Head of Credit – Asset Finance

£110,000 to £125,000 per annum plus car allowance, good bonus, pension scheme and healthcare

Our client is a well-backed non-bank lender and a major provider of innovative and flexible lending solutions to the UK SME sector.

As it continues to expand into new market areas it has created a new senior credit risk leadership role to take responsibility for the teams of credit analysts and managers.

The Role:

• Taking responsibility for the credit risk function which sanctions a range of asset financing transactions generated through broker and vendor / manufacturer relationships.
• Credit risk framework responsibility to maintain and improve the quality and quantity of new business written.
• Managing the credit risk teams to ensure that new business applications are underwritten quickly and accurately and in close collaboration with the commercial and operational teams.
• Operating at Board level to represent the credit risk function of the business and contribute to future strategic plans.
• Representing credit risk with external parties on a regular basis, providing detailed reports on portfolio and credit risk.
• Personally sanctioning larger value and more complex transactions and chairing credit committee for transactions in excess of mandated limits.

The Candidate:

• An experienced asset finance credit risk professional with a proven background across a range of asset classes. Applicants must have asset finance credit risk experience.
• Proven leadership skills and able to train, manage and inspire a team of credit risk analysts and managers.
• Credible and highly analytical and able to present confidently at a senior level and engender confidence amongst peers.
• A flexible approach and able to stay away from home for a night or two if the need arises.
